X-ray Fluorescence, XRF Analysis Services
Two XRF systems are available, a wavelength dispersive system (WDXRF) and an energy dispersive system (EDXRF). The difference is the manner in which the x-rays are detected. WDXRF instruments have very good energy resolution which leads to fewer spectral overlaps and improved background intensities. EDXRF instruments have higher signal throughput which can shorten analysis times. The higher signal throughput also makes EDXRF systems suitable for small spot or mapping analysis.

XRF
B Series
The B Series represents the most basic top-down measurement configuration that Bowman offers. The sample stage is a fixed base plate, requiring operators to manually position parts in the desired area for testing. This is accomplished by placing parts into the chamber and using the video image to align the desired location within the crosshairs on the screen. The sample chamber is the same as the P Series, with the slotted configuration, but without the programmable X-Y sample stage.

This spectrometer is a control chassis which accomodate 8 FFTS cards, each with up to 2.5 GHz bandwidth. Each XFFTS-board operates from a single 5 Volt source and dissipates less than 30 Watt, depending on the actual configuration in terms of bandwidth and number of spectral channels. Precise time stamping of the processed spectra is realized by an on-board GPS/IRIG-B time decoder. Furthermore, the 10-layer boards include a programmable ADC clock synthesizer for a wide range of configurations (bandwidth: 0.1 – 2.5 GHz), making the spectrometer flexible for different observation requirements .
