The 40-205-008 (PXI) is an 8-channel fault insertion switch designed to simulate common faults on high speed two wire communication interfaces such as xBaseT1 Ethernet. It is available with 4 or 8 channels of two wire serial connections and can be used for simulating faults on 10BaseT1, 100BaseT1, 1000BaseT1 and 10GBaseT1 Ethernet interfaces. Any wire can be set as open circuit and shorts can be applied across wire pairs. Fault connections can be made to one of four external signals via two fault buses, typically simulating connections to supply voltage or ground.

Each channel can support up to 0.3A and is rated to handle up to 100V between the wire pairs. The wire pairs have controlled transmission line impedance suited to most differential pair signaling systems, including fast CAN Bus interfaces and RS232. The Kepco HSP series provides mission critical power. HSP comprises a group of twelve models, eight 1000 watt power supplies with outputs from 3.3 volts to 125 volts and four 1500 watt power supplies with outputs from 24 volts to 125 volts. All models feature current-sharing for parallel redundant N+1 operation. Models with the or-ing diode, option R, are capable of hot swapping when plugged into Kepco¹s RA 60 series rack adapter. Models with a digital meter, option M, are also available (see photo, right). A mechanical keying scheme allows the user to define which power supply will plug into a specified slot in the housing. Output voltage and current limit settings are adjustable from the panel and may be remotely adjusted.
