Even though the lamination material is tested in sheet format before any process, that alone is not sufficient to guarantee good quality stators. Wear and tear of the punch, bad welding, bad insulating coating in annealing add to the magnetic losses in the stator. It is always advisable to test the stator core in it's final format before winding to ensure good quality throughout the production batch.

The Powder Brake Dynamometer (PB Series) contains, as its name suggests, a magnetic powder. The electrical current passing through the coil generates a magnetic field, which changes the property of the powder, thus producing a smooth braking torque through friction. They are ideal for applications operating in the low to middle speed range or when operating in the middle to high torque range. Like Hysteresis Brakes, Powder Brakes provide full torque at zero speed. Like the Eddy-Current Brake Dynamometers, the PB series are water-cooled, allowing for power ratings up to 48 kW. The PB Dynamometers have accuracy ratings of 0.3% to 0.5% full scale ( 2% for PB 2.7), depending on size and system configuration. Additional mounting possibilities include speed pickup and OEM version IS.

A shaft speed sensor detects magnets embedded in a shaft-mounted pulser wrap/disc. When a conveyor belt or bucket elevator begins to slip the pulse frequency (shaft RPM) crosses to the alarm side of a trip-point threshold, a corresponding relay de-energizes, providing shutdown or alarm.

The A2T is a single axis, digital gravity angle sensor. The A2T serves as a full 360 range absolute tilt sensing programmable level with either digital or analog output. Internally, a rotary bar coded disk is mounted to a weighted gravity driven wheel. A micro-controller strobes an LED to transfer the bar code image onto an optical linear array, then decodes the position every 2 mSec. Magnetic damping provides fast response and settling time while virtually eliminating overshoot and oscillations. This second generation design virtually eliminates the primary accuracy limitation of first generation inclinometers, which is sitation (hysteresis).
