Osborne Saturable Reactors are designed to provide a variable output voltage through the use of variable impedance connected in series with a constant impedance load. Each saturable reactor’s impedance is determined by the application of DC power to a control winding. As the level of power supplied to the control winding is increased, the saturable reactor becomes more saturated. This reduces the impedance of the AC gate winding, and increase the amount of the supply voltage that is transferred to the load. Conversely, as the power is reduced to the control winding, the reactor becomes less saturated, the gate winding has more impedance and less of the input voltage is provided to the output impedance. This approach provides excellent quality, reliability, and control when designed to match the requirements of a specific application.

RMO100TT is the only portable transformer resistance meter in the market with 100 A DC output current.The three independent channels enable testing of three windings in series. Consequently, a user can measure winding resistance in every tap position of an on-load tap changer without discharging between the tests.In addition to winding resistance measurement, a user can perform a detailed on-load tap changer analysis by analyzing recorded graphs (10 kHz sampling rate) and by measuring vibrations on an external tap changer tank.All RMO-TT instruments have a built-in tap changer control unit. The PT-1 provides a simple and easy way to determine the relative polarity of coil windings. It allows for an in-process test that takes a minimum of time to perform. By placing a coil on the platform and making connection to the start and end of a winding, a test signal is induced in the winding. The induced signal is low level and completely safe for the operator. By comparing the test signal phase of the coil under the test output, the relative polarity is indicated by the Red/Green LED. The tester operates by inducing a signal voltage in the coil under test by means of a magnetic flux field. The field is generated by a coil located in the probe base. The coil configuration is designed to provide optimum field distribution. We have also applied this basic circuit to a 5-channel scanning unit.

High Current Transformer is designed as an open type transformer that uses the test object as its secondary coil or has 1 or 2-turn self secondary winding. The conductors cores' temperature depends on the short-circuit high current caused by the test object. According to the current going through the test object, the test temperature of the conductor will change. Since the rise time of IGBTs are in the range of a few tens of nanoseconds (between 50ns-200ns), even short cables between PWM motor drives and motors cause voltage doubling at the motor terminals due to Travelling Wave Phenomenon as in transmission lines. The insulation of motor windings are prone to failure due to high voltage spikes if necessary precautions are not sufficiently taken. RC Type Output Filter Modules reduce these high voltage spikes to protect motors by connecting to stator terminals.
