Linear Array
Linear array sensors consist of a linear array of integrating photosensing pixels which measure incident light over a user-defined exposure time and generate a voltage or digital output which represents the light exposure at each pixel. The sensors are available in a variety of lengths and pixel resolutions. The analog output may be directly interfaced to an ADC for digital processing or for comparing black/white thresholds. Applications include contact image sensing, optical character recognition, edge detection, and object measurement in products such as copiers, document scanners and spectroscopy.

Coupled Multielectrode Array Sensor (CMAS) Probes
CMAS probes are made from user-specified sensing materials, including carbon steels, stainless steels, and nickel-, aluminum-, and copper-based alloys. They can also be made from customer supplied materials that have the same microstructure/heat treatment as the system component materials to be monitored. The size of the sensing electrode varies from 0.1 to 3 mm (0.004" to 0.12") in diameter, depending on the application. Typical numbers of electrodes in a CMAS probe are 9, 16 or 25 for online corrosion monitoring and vary from 8 to 100 for laboratory corrosion and electrochemical studies.

The PSD array consists of 16 parallel one-dimensional PSD elements on the same chip. By utilizing the triangulation technique the reflection of a laser line or multiple laser spots onto the PSD array will provide information about the contour of the illuminated object. The possibility for simultaneous readout of the 16 elements together with the fast response of each element makes the PSD array suitable for applications like high speed 3D contour measurements and measurements of parallel, moving objects such as cantilevers.

All machine vision lenses will show some type of distortion. Minimizing or correcting that distortion is crucial in most applications. The ACCUplace Dot Distortion target is designed to detect the presence of both barrel/pincushion distortion as well as alignment distortion that causes the keystone effect. The precise amount of distortion is determined from an array of precisely placed dots in a regular array. The results can be used to correct for any distortion that occurs within the optical system.
