Visual instructions are clearly printed on the case. When activated, the rescueME PLB1 will transmit accurate position data from its 66 channel GPS for a minimum of 24 hours while the integrated strobe light ensures maximum visibility.Ocean Signal has ensured that rescueME, like all of its other safety products, exceeds statutory requirements. RescueME PLB provides an incredible 7 year battery life, and is covered by a 7 year warranty. Even after more than 24 hours of continuous operation, and when the battery power is insufficient to transmit the satellite signal, the PLB1's homing beacon and strobe light will continue to operate. This high intensity strobe light features a molded lens to enhance the visibility of its efficient LED and it gives a powerful 1 candela light emission.Self-test of the PLB can be carried out with a simple button press with the start of test and results clearly indicated by a green flashing light. The antenna is easily extended like a normal tape measure and can be retracted using the winding mechanism on the top of the unit. The A994 is an open circuit locator for electric and telephone cables wind on the reel; it gives the position of the fault from the inside or outside end of the cable, in percentage to the total cable length. The instrument measures the ratio of the capacitances of the two sections of failed conductor using two high precision i/v converters. The advantage of this method is due to the fact that the measurement error depends almost exclusively on the dimensional inhomogeneity of the cable. The A994 has the unique feature to permit the location of fault in cables with all broken wires. This instrument locates breaks in cables with a total capacity between 2 nF and 5 uF. The distance to fault is displayed on a large LCD display.

The Type NVF-2 series of handheld directional antennas are used to locate interfering signals or noise in either the 420 – 470 MHz (Type NVF-2A) or the 900 MHz ISM band or cellular telephone bands (Type NVF-2B). Both models incorporate a solid reflector positioned behind a resonated half wave driven element, both elements being mounted on a fiberglass rod with an integral pistol grip. The configuration of the reflector and driven element are such that a deep null in the signal being received will occur when the antenna is pointed in the direction of the signal being radiated. A T-pad resistive attenuator is also incorporated in the antenna mounting enclosure to aid in the direction finding process on very strong signals or when excessive reflections present multiple returns.
