The mechanical configuration consists of a test bed with a load machine and a torque measuring shaft. The load machine and torque sensor shaft are mounted on a linear guide and precisely aligned axially by means of laser. It can be moved towards the test object on ball bearings, as a complete unit. Especially time-saving: no need to realign the load machine assembly when changing the torque sensor.

Production Test Stands for Electric Motors

Electric drives such as DC and EC motors are more and more extensively deployed in the automotive industry. At the same time there is an increasing requirement for a 100% analysis of motors for fault detection and error analysis as well as statistics on quality, without increasing production cycles times. The model-based Parameter Identification method (PI method) from imc allows testing to be performed under load, yet without an “explicit” separate load machine. Instead, the motor is loaded dynamically by exploiting its own inherent inertia. This allows motor parameters such as resistance, inductivity and friction to be determined within a few seconds. A mathematical model and its parameters reflect motor behaviour in its completeness and make it possible to monitor motor production based on limit values and trend statistics. The identified parameters of the model equation can then be used to calculate derived key performance indicators of the motor characteristic curve.

ED&D digital force gauges can be used in a virtually limitless number of tension and compression testing applications, and are perfect for the various product safety requirements. These units are housed in a heavy metal enclosure, making them the most "rugged" force gauges available -- perfect for testing and lab conditions. All force gauges are able to capture the peak force in both tension and compression and have selectable units of measurement. Force gauge capacities are available for the various requirements, we offer 50N, 200N, 500N and 1000N models in the PFI Series and the AFI Series. ED&D force gauges may be handheld or used with a test stand and/or gripping fixture to create a complete testing solution. All force gauges are CE marked. They come in a custom padded carrying case, includes batteries and an adaptor, as well as a disc accessory attachment, hook attachment, extension rod, metric extension rod, and screws used for mounting gauge to a test stand or use with the gripping fixtures. Available exclusively from ED&D are the attachment finger probes and force discs for testing accessibility as well as stability limits. Torque testing is a way of determining how something will react when it is being turned during operation or twisted to failure - when a force is applied to it in torque. DP-VXI-5106, is a 32 Channel Analog Comparator Module with 32 channels of differential analog window comparators. Each channel is provided with a window comparator as well as a Level Comparator , software selectable on an independent channel basis. All the 32 channels have been grouped into four groups of 8 channels each. This allows the user to configure the comparator module based on the application to initiate alarm action to exactly meet application requirements. Each Comparator channel can be programmed to generate a VXI bus interrupt or can be masked through software. An Interrupt is generated on an individual channel basis or on a group basis. Front panel outputs of buffered TTL and a 2-CO relay contact is available for every group (4 outputs total each). Also, a common buffered TTL interrupt output and a common 2-CO relay contact is also available at the facia providing extensive flexibility in application engineering.This module is an ideal device for GO / NO-GO testing in Test Stand Automation where important signals must be continuously monitored for system shut down purposes and safety inter-lock implementation. The hardware implementation in the Comparator module provides high-speed throughput and reliable inter-lock implementation. The interrupt out signal can be further wired as trigger signals for pre and post trigger analysis of signal data for post acquisition detailing.Each channel provides a Window Comparator implementation and a Level Comparator implementation. The configuration is programmable through software and the alarm can be generated if the signal is within the window or outside the window. Similarly, a high and low limit can be set and a trigger is generated if the signal exceeds the high limit or drops below the low limit.
