104-COM232-8 Series
This is an eight, four, or two-port, asynchronous, serial communication board designed for use on the PC/104 bus. It supports full RS-232 serial communications. The board may be installed in any standard PC/104 stack. Connections are made via two 40 pin IDC type right angle connectors for the boards optional breakout cable. The boards are feature-rich and allow for the connection of multiple serial devices—ideal for a variety of applications such as POS, barcode readers, modems, machine monitoring and control, military, high-density networking applications or any other application requiring the connection of RS-232 serial devices to a PC/104 compatible system. Type 16780 UARTS are used as the asynchronous communication elements. These include 64-byte transmit/receive FIFO buffers to protect against lost data in multitasking systems while maintaining 100% compatibility with all operating system COM port drivers. ACCES offers the 104-COM232-8 series in both standard and extended temperature versions ideal for outdoor applications or harsh industrial surroundings. Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier
EDFA
EDFAs are based on the light amplification in erbium-doped fiber, which are optically pumped by means of 980 nm or 1480 nm light sources. In this way, the light of a larger wavelength within the C or L band applied to the input of the amplifier is amplified, thus widening the range of optical communication links. EDFAs typically operate in saturation and the average signal power determines the average gain. The dynamics of EDFA are unaffected by the sequence and dynamics of a digital signal or channel interaction in DWDM systems. As a result, multiple channels can be bundled within the total erbium spectral amplification bandwidth. However, the total average output power in both cases is determined by the saturation power of the specific EDFA.

It's time to start utilizing the superior magnetometer, and what better way than to throw it onto an easy-to-use breakout board? The SparkFun MLX90393 Magnetometer Breakout is a triple-axis magnetic sensor board capable of sensing very small fields, while still behaving as one would expect during saturation in larger fields (like a nearby magnet). The MLX90393 breakout can be used as a compass sensor but also works well as a non-contact controller, a flow meter with a magnetic impeller, or a linear actuator position sensor. To make it even easier to to get your readings, all communication is enacted exclusively via I2C, utilizing our handy Qwiic system.
