The 105/106 Series Event Detectors are the most versatile Event Detectors in the product line. These Event Detectors monitor the electrical resistance of up to 128 simple continuity loops, each comprised of single or multiple specimens under test. Each test specimen is continuously monitored while a selectable DC sense current is passed through each channel test-loop; resistance changes exceeding the selected threshold are recorded as an event. Minimum Event Duration, Channel Current, and Threshold Voltage settings can all be independently configured. 105 and 106 Series instruments are electrically identical, with the difference simply that the 105 offers four, 32-channel board slots and the 106 offers only one. Thus the 128-105 is equivalent to four 32-106 Event Detectors.

Event counter is sleek system used to keep track of events. Event counter system is an independent unit with LED, event and reset buttons used for user interface. User generated events are displayed by LED (seven segment display scheme). Event counter Board consists of Microcontroller, counters, monostable multivibrator, transmitters & receivers (RX232, RX422). Event button is used to increment the events and reset button is used to reset the count value. Events are displayed on seven segment display mechanism for visual analysis. Event counter unit starts count from 000 and counts upto 999 events on pressing the event push button. The event value is transmitted over the RS232 / RS422 /TTL communication line to the recorder system.

An optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) is a precision instrument used to locate events or faults along a fiber link, typically within an optical communications network. The OTDR launches a series of high speed optical pulses into the fiber to be measured. Various events on the fiber generates a Rayleigh back scatter that returns to the OTDR and the strength of the return pulses are measured and integrated as a function of time, and plotted as a function of fiber length. The horizontal axis is the distance and the vertical axis is the loss.

Since each channel has it''s own transformer, no glitches or voltage spikes can get into any of the other channels.
