Larger matrices may be constructed by daisy chaining the common signals from multiple cards. Expansion cables are available for the 50-512 and 50-513: The 50-512 can be expanded to 44x8 or the 50-513 can be expanded to 88x4 using two cards linked by the ribbon cable assembly 50-976-020-0.1M. The 60-510 is a high density 1-pole matrix module controlled via LXI. It has excellent thermal stability and substantially reduced thermal EMF figures when compared to a conventional switching matrix. Typical applications include signal routing in ATE, selecting thermocouple inputs, switching amplifier gain circuits and high accuracy DC micro-volt measurements. Ruthenium reed switches are used because of their good low level switching capability. They also have a very long life with excellent contact resistance stability, minimal wetting current and low thermal offset.
