TSCOE4 Operator Interface Software Module

The TSCOE4 Operator Interface provides a graphical user interface for the operator or the implementer in a production environment. It permits selecting the test sequence and supports parametrization of the test. During the test sequence, the current measurement values are displayed in relation to the relevant limits and the pass/fail evaluations for each individual test. After completion of the test sequence, the global test result is visualized.In addition, there are online statistics available to the user, which show the measurement value distribution within the current batch.The editor which is supplied with the product makes it possible to adapt the user interface language to any new deployment location. Several languages – German, English and Chinese – have already been implemented and are available out of the box.

The load system is intended for testing satellite power supply systems; due to the integration with a solar array simulator and a battery simulator, it can perform validation and commissioning of satellite power supplies. The system is equipped with regenerative electronic loads and customer-specific high-power switching matrices for routing the DUT channels to the relevant loads. The individual voltages and currents for each channel can be read back via a Keysight Technologies switch mainframe.The system is equipped with high electrical power; its loads are capable of feeding the energy back into the power grid.

We have also implemented systems for functional test, repair and calibration of decentralized PLC I/O assemblies.Since early failures in the field often lead to enormous costs, we not only provide functional test systems, but also burn-in systems for simultaneous testing of many assemblies in a climate chamber. Due to the modular structure of our software, it is possible to establish a logical separation between the definition of the climatic profile to be executed and the actual test sequence, during which the different electrical tests are processed. SCOEs and EGSEs by LXinstruments are used during test and validation of satellite assemblies and modules in aerospace applications. As an example, we implemented solar array simulators, battery simulators and high-power load racks for a German satellite manufacturer for testing satellite power supply systems. Due to the high power ratings, the systems are partially equipped with water cooling. Specialized switching modules were developed for switching DC currents at high voltage levels; these can be programmed with SCPI commands via Ethernet.Our modular OTP² functional test platform is ideally suited for implementing durable, reliable test systems, e. g. for in-flight entertainment applications. Since the OTP2 platform is based on open interfaces, it can be quickly and easily adapted to any required communication busses and ARINC interfaces.

Multi Channel Optical Fibre Verification

The multi-channel optical fibre test system is used in the development and qualification of single mode optical fibres. The fibres are exposed to environmental influences in a climatic chamber in order to analyse the data on insertion loss and reflection. In addition, the current temperature in the climatic chamber is documented. Insertion loss measurement is performed with the help of an optical power meter, laser sources and optical switches. An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) from Exfo is used for the reflection measurements. The system was designed for the simultaneous characterization of 15 sample fibres and one reference fibre.

Power electronics assemblies often cannot be tested using conventional technology for their electrical performance. Due to the adaptability of the instrumentation, the OTP concept offers an ideal platform even beyond the space requirements of several control cabinets. In order to achieve high test flexibility with different assemblies, the system was equipped with three-phase AC sources and AC loads as well as a precise three-phase power meter. DC sources and loads with different current and voltage ranges cover the test of frequent DUT operating parameters. Time-dependent voltage or current signals can be stimulated by an arbitrary generator with power amplifier. General measurements such as current, voltage, frequency, resistance can be carried out flexibly at various test points using the matrix concept. An oscilloscope with RF multiplexer is available for high-frequency measurements such as residual ripple, switching processes, etc.
