The EW IFU (Electronic Warfare Interface Unit) interfaces between Cockpit electronics viz., RWR Display Unit (DU), New control Box (NCB), CMDS Control/Display units and Simulator Host Computer (HOST). The EW IFU transmits the status of the cockpit control units to the host, receives display data from the host and transfers the same to RWR DU, NCB and CMDS CCU/CDU. The display data for the RWR DU received from the host would comprise of the complete symbol data in respect of emitters that are to be displayed based on the data from the Instructor Station (IS) and control input from the cockpit. The display unit receives and presents the data as symbology on the display screen. The EW IFU based on the PC–AT.

CPCI Rear IO Analog and Discrete Signal Conditioning Board is a signal conditioning and interface board for CPCI based Advance Compute & IO Module (MS3663i). Transmitter and Receiver units are designed to work at 24V DC voltage (nominal) with variation between 19.2 V to 28.8V. The system is designed to work with carrier frequency 1800/2700 Hz and modulated frequency 65Hz/85Hz. For 1800Hz Carrier Frequency RED border is used in Front Panel and for 2700Hz Carrier Frequency BLUE border is used in Front Panel. Maximum power consumed by transmitter and receiver are 1.2W and 8W, respectively. Sense level for receiver is less than –19 dBm and No sense level for receiver is more than –22 dBm with 1mw (0 dBm) transmitter power. The equipment is designed to work satisfactorily with temperature variation from 0°C to 55°C with relative humidity of 95% at 35°C. Suitable test points are provided in the back of the equipment to monitor the necessary parameters.
