Optical Isolators
Thorlabs manufactures a wide selection of narrowband and broadband free-space optical isolators (Faraday isolators) that operate in spectral ranges from 365 nm to 9.80 µm, including high-power options, as well as fiber isolators designed for wavelength ranges from 650 to 2010 nm for polarization-independent versions and 770 nm to 2010 nm for polarization-dependent versions. Two-wavelength SM WDMs
Wavelength Division Multiplexers (WDMs) are used to combine or split two different single mode signals with low insertion loss. Thorlabs' WDMs featured on this page are manufactured using Fused Biconic Taper (FBT) technology and are designed for common NIR and telecom wavelengths (see the table to the right for options). They are an ideal solution for combining pump and signal wavelengths in fiber lasers and amplifiers or for combining telecom signals. Our WDMs have undergone extensive testing to ensure they meet or surpass Telcordia requirements; please see the Reliability Testing tab for details.

The DXM30AF Ultrafast Detector is a DC - 30 GHz, fiber-coupled, InGaAs-based photodetector designed for applications in the 750 nm - 1650 nm wavelength range. The core element of the detector is the fiber-coupled, hermetically sealed, microwave detector module. For convenience and simplicity of use, the module is mounted inside a rugged housing that includes a rechargeable battery, current monitor circuitry, and a digital display of the DC photocurrent.

Fourier Transform Optical Spectrum Analyzer, 350 - 1100 nm
OSA201C
Thorlabs' Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSAs) perform highly accurate spectral measurements. Compatible with fiber-coupled and free-space light sources, these compact benchtop instruments suit a wide variety of applications, such as analyzing the spectrum of a telecom signal, resolving the Fabry-Perot modes of a gain chip, and identifying gas absorption lines. Many commonly available OSAs use grating-based monochromators, which have slow acquisition times due to the need to mechanically scan the grating and average out noise at each wavelength. Thorlabs' OSAs acquire the spectrum via a Fourier transform using a scanning Michelson interferometer in a push/pull configuration. This approach dramatically improves the acquisition time, enables a high-precision wavelength meter mode with 7 significant figures and ±1 part-per-million accuracy, and allows the included software to provide robust statistical analysis of the acquired spectra, as explained in the Design tab.

1.533 Μm Frequency-Locked Laser
Thorlabs' LLD1530 Frequency-Locked Laser is a narrow linewidth, DFB-laser-diode-based, turnkey system with a vacuum emission wavelength of 1532.8323 nm and a high SMSR of at least 35 dB. The laser frequency is actively stabilized to a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-traceable molecular transition of acetylene and has an absolute accuracy at start-up that is better than ±25 MHz. The emission frequency immediately after start-up is then maintained with a ±25 MHz stability, providing an overall frequency accuracy of ±50 MHz. The LLD1530 is an accurate frequency reference designed to provide low-noise laser emission with excellent frequency stability, accuracy, and precision immediately at start-up. This source is ideal for use in demanding FTIR instrumentation, instrument calibration, gas sensing, and coherent telecommunications applications.

Ultrafast Fiber Optic Photodetectors
DXM Series
The DXM series of Ultrafast Detectors are fiber-coupled photodetectors with wide wavelength ranges, as shown in the plot to the right, that are designed to be used for a variety applications. Each provides a high-fidelity electrical output pulse in response to an optical input pulse, and their clean impulse responses have full width half maxima (FWHM) down to 15 ps.
