The Lumistar LS-84-EC “Economy Chassis” Telemetry System offers a low cost, high performance COTS solution for a portable quick look ground/remote/airborne station. The unit has a built-in computer running Windows 10 (WIN 7 option) for stand-alonecontrol or can be controlled remotely over TCP/IP. Using Lumistar’s PCI-based or modular line of telemetry products, acomplete telemetry ground station can be configured in a very small space. Functions such as RF reception, demodulation, bitsynchronization, simulation, frame sync, decom, data archive and real-time display can all be handled in this unit. Data can bearchived on an internal solid state drive or external serial ATA or USB 2.0 drive. A laptop using a network connection providesremote control and access to real-time displays. An innovative technique for expanding the number of channels per fiber involves an optical device, called an optical interleaver. For example, in most DWDM equipment, the standard channel spacing is 100 GHz. But spacing the signal-carrying frequencies every 50 or even 25 GHz can double or even quadruple the number of channels per fiber. This job is accomplished by an optical interleaver. Such a device takes two multiplexed signals with 100-GHz spacing and interleaves them, creating a DWDM signal with channels spaced 50 GHz apart. The process can be repeated, creating even denser composite signals with 25-GHz or 12.5-GHz spacing. The signals at the receiving end are recovered with the same devices used as splitters or optical de-interleavers. Thus, devices and/or networks can be upgraded without requiring that all devices be upgraded, or network bandwidth can be increased.

Two versions of this shield are avaliable for each thermocouple type: either 'Ch 0-3' (CS pins use Uno/Mega IO pins 7-10) or 'Ch 4-7' (CS pins use Uno/Mega IO pins 3-6), with the only difference being which set of zero-ohm resistors are populated on the board. This allows use of other SPI devices that may be 'hard coded' to specific digital pins on the Arduino, or simply stacking one of each type together to get a total of eight thermocouple channels on one Arduino.Each order comes with one board and a set of four female, long extension, headers that can be soldered to the board. If stacking two of these modules on top of each other, please order both a Ch 0-3 and a Ch 4-7 board, as well as an additional set of headers for stacking.
