Software Defined Radio Device
The USRP-2955 provides an integrated hardware and software solution for rapidly prototyping high-performance wireless receiver systems. It is designed for over-the-air signal acquisition and analysis. It features a two-stage superheterodyne architecture with four independent receiver channels and shares local oscillators for phase-coherent operation. It also offers a Kintex-7 FPGA programmable with the LabVIEW FPGA Module. With these features, the USRP-2955 has the RF and processing performance for applications such as spectrum monitoring, direction finding, signals intelligence, wideband recording, and radar prototyping. The USRP-2955 is equipped with a GPS-disciplined 10 MHz oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) Reference Clock, which improves frequency accuracy and synchronization.

And all of our in-circuit testers are also available in the Lambda edition for true parallel testing. The flying probe test checks your printed circuit boards using four movable test heads. This requires no fixtures and allows for flexible test program generation. That makes our flying probe test systems ideal for a high mix of printed circuit boards and small to medium test volumes, such as for prototype testing.

Design for Test

Test Coach offers Design for Test (DFT) consulting to assist customers with design review of prototype boards prior to release for production. Design for Test analysis is extremely important in ensuring that an assembly will achieve the highest possible test coverage. For ICT, this DFT will review the board to confirm that the bed-of-nails test fixture can be fabricated to test an assembly without sacrificing test coverage. As with ICT, Flying Probe benefits from DFT analysis by reviewing test point access and mechanical challenges that may affect the potential test coverage. Completing a DFT enables Test Coach to make recommendations to our customers that may be implemented on boards during the design phase which will allow for the most comprehensive coverage at time of test.

Software-Defined Radio (SDR) is an attractive approach for mobile communication architectures in the development and evaluation phase for a rapid prototyping on a flexible platform. SDRs support a wide frequency range. However, for practical use in the field the HF properties are insufficient. The transmit power is limited to a 2-digit mW value. Dedicated filters are required for an effective suppression of out-of-band signals and to improve the noise figure of the receiver chain.
