48-Channel, Sink/Source Inputs, Channel-Channel Isolated PXI Digital I/O Module—The PXI‑6529 is an industrial, parallel digital input interface. PXI‑6529 devices are ideal for a variety of applications from automotive design, industrial factory automation, and machine control to aerospace, laboratory research, and biomedical applications. With programmable power-up states, you can configure the initial output states in software to ensure safe operation when connected to industrial actuators. If a computer or application fault occurs, the PXI‑6529 can use digital I/O watchdogs to switch to a configurable safe output state to ensure detection and safe recovery from fault conditions. Programmable input filters eliminate glitches/spikes and provide debouncing for digital switches/relays through a software-selectable digital filter.

An SAS (Solar Array Simulator), consisting of an interconnection of several Solar Array Simulator modules, maps the solar panels and displays the individual strings connected in parallel. It is highly desirable to reduce the number of cables required to communicate between spaces on Navy ships due to increased weight, cost and maintenance concerns. To reduce weight and expense, copper-based NTDS parallel and serial type cables can be converted to fiber optic and multiplexed using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology. WDM technology allows for multiple fiber optic wavelengths to be combined in a single fiber and then separated back to individual fibers at the distant end. Using Coarse WDM (CWDM) which utilizes wavelengths 20nm apart ranging from 1271 nm to 1611 nm, provides for up to 18 optical wavelengths to be combined into a single fiber. Optionally Dense WDM (DWDM) can be used allowing for up to 160 optical wavelengths.
