Split-type Cable Fault Location System

Weshine Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd
Electricity networks have had to become more flexible, reacting more quickly to the changes and needs of higher performance. This demand for flexibility is especially true where multiple generation sources occur, such as the intermittent power from renewables like solar and wind energy. While modern SMART grid technology can quickly identify faults in sub-station and generating units, cable faults can still occur anywhere on the network.

PXI Fault Insertion Matrix Modules
-
All of our fault insertion matrices feature a breakout arrangement that allows faults to be attached to the sensor lines via the Y axis. This includes the breaking of a connection or the adding of a series defect – all of which can simulate connectivity problems in the system. The three pin breakout versions allow the connection to be swapped for a “bad” sensor simulation.

Ocean Signal RescueME PLB1 (Personal Locator Beacon)
RescueME PLB1
-
The RescueME PLB1 is the world's smallest 406mhz & GPS enabled PLBOperation of the rescueME PLB could not be simpler. To activate the PLB: Pull the retractable antenna out by its end tab, flip open the spring loaded cover over the activation button, hold the button for 1 second until the lights blink. Visual instructions are clearly printed on the case. When activated, the rescueME PLB1 will transmit accurate position data from its 66 channel GPS for a minimum of 24 hours while the integrated strobe light ensures maximum visibility.Ocean Signal has ensured that rescueME, like all of its other safety products, exceeds statutory requirements. RescueME PLB provides an incredible 7 year battery life, and is covered by a 7 year warranty. Even after more than 24 hours of continuous operation, and when the battery power is insufficient to transmit the satellite signal, the PLB1's homing beacon and strobe light will continue to operate. This high intensity strobe light features a molded lens to enhance the visibility of its efficient LED and it gives a powerful 1 candela light emission.Self-test of the PLB can be carried out with a simple button press with the start of test and results clearly indicated by a green flashing light. The antenna is easily extended like a normal tape measure and can be retracted using the winding mechanism on the top of the unit. This unique feature greatly facilitates user training and familiarization as it is not a one time deployable antenna similar to existing PLBs.rescueME comes with a snap-in mounting bracket and universal rubber mounting strap which can be fitted permanently or with each use. It is also supplied with a detachable flotation lanyard to accommodate all scenarios out of the box.

Thumpers and Cable Fault Location
-
Cable testing can be broken down to different steps of the process, starting with a time domain reflectometer test to look for an incident signal on the line or, in some high resistance situations, VLF testing. These tests will identify a fault, allowing you to move on to pre-locating it. In some low resistance faults this will occur alongside the identification via the TDR.

End-to-End Testing of Location Based Services Software
-
LBS Tester provides an end-to-end test bed for Mobile Network Operators and Network Equipment Manufacturers, to verify the accurate implementation of the location services network. The LBS Tester tests that the Location Server (System Under Test) is correctly executing the positioning procedures over the control plane and/or user plane of that network. To test normal signaling, or failure scenarios, over the LTE User Plane as the number of SETs (SUPL Enabled Terminals) simulated by the LBS Tester increases, the Location Server must execute LPP (Location Positioning Protocol) procedures over SUPL (Secure User Plane Protocol) with success, or without, respectively.

PXI 1A Fault Insertion Switch 11-Channel
40-195-101
Relay
The 40-195 is a 22 Channel Fault Insertion Switch, primarily designed for the simulation of fault conditions in automotive & avionics applications involving the reliability testing of safety critical controllers. It is designed to be able to insert different fault conditions on pairs of signals between the test fixture and the equipment under test: Open-Circuit, Short-Circuit between signal pairs, Short-Circuit between signal pairs and user applied fault conditions e.g. Power or GND. Relays in-line with the signal paths allow open circuit conditions to be simulated on either side or both sides of a signal pair. Relays between each channel pair enable adjacent signals to be shorted, and relays between signal paths and the "Fault" connection allow the application of external user applied fault conditions.
