This version of our BRIC is part of a range of high-density PXI matrix modules. With this high level of switching density, these PXI matrix modules allow a complete Functional ATE system to be housed in a single 3U PXI chassis. These BRIC matrix modules allow the use of lower cost 8 or 14-slot PXI chassis.

The 40-830 is a 75 RF Switch available with 3 or 6 separate SPDT relays in a single PXI slot. Both versions have been designed to exhibit low insertion loss and VSWR through the use of modern RF relay technology at an affordable cost. The switch banks have been carefully designed to ensure excellent and repeatable RF characteristics to frequencies of 3GHz with each path having a nominally equal insertion loss. The design of the 40-830 minimizes the injection of noise and unwanted signals into the signal path by careful attention to the mechanical and electrical design.

Larger matrices may be constructed by Daisy Chaining the common signals from multiple PCI cards. For example four 44x4 Cards will form a 176x4 Matrix, a total of 704 crosspoints. The 40-877A-002 (PXI) and 42-877A-002 (PXIe) are 50Ω 2x2 RF matrices with 2 banks in a single slot. Loop-thru connections are provided on both the X and Y axis allowing the attachment of terminations for unused signals or for expansion to other matrices. Larger matrices are easily built with varied X and Y dimensions, such as 8x2 and 4x4 using multiple 40/42-877A modules.
