Coil analyzers and power supply units are portable and lightweight devices intended for use in harsh switchyard and industrial environments. The typical application is switchgear and circuit breaker testing when substation battery is not connected or available. An advantage over substation battery is enabled testing in under-voltage and over-voltage conditions. Furthermore, the stable voltage outputs with a very low ripple (<0,5%) enable an analysis of the coil and motor current graphs recorded with circuit breaker analyzers from different vendors.SAT40AD, POB30AD, and POB40AD are unique devices in the market due to their dual purpose:Power supply for coils and spring-charging motorsTesting circuit breaker’s coils, motor, and auxiliary circuitAll DV Power coil analyzers and power supply units have four separate outputs for opening and closing coils.SAT40AD has two powerful motor outputs (AC and DC) which can withstand up to 40 A inrush current.POB30AD and POB40AD have DC motor output rated up to 30 A and 40 A respectively. With the use of motor outputs, POB and SAT can also be used as a power source or a temporary battery charger.SAT40A II series instruments can be controlled via PC. The advanced CAT series records graphs of the opening and closing coil currents and the movements of the moving parts of the high and medium voltage circuit breaker. Analog Devices high speed, differential CAT-5 video receivers and equalizers compensate for the transmission losses of UTP and coaxial cables up to 300 meters in length. Various gain stages are summed together to best approximate the inverse frequency response of the cable. Logic circuitry controls the gain functions of the individual stages so that the lowest noise can be achieved at short-to-medium cable lengths. Our video receivers provide excellent common-mode rejection that enables the use of low cost, unshielded twisted pair cables in noisy environments.
