Clock Drivers
Multiple timing signals ("clocks") are required by CCDs, IR FPAs, and some CMOS image sensors to transport electrical charge across the array to a sense amplifier for conversion into image data. Pulse Instruments offers a line of "clock drivers" for generating these timing signals. The parameters of these clocks (clock rate, pulse width, pulse amplitude, rise- and fall-times, etc.) greatly influence the behavior and performance of the imaging device. Our products take logic-level inputs from a pattern generator and allow the user to adjust the output parameters to suit their device and testing requirements. Clocks can be "tweaked" in real-time to determine optimal operating parameters for a particular device, or else programmed in accordance with a test plan for automated production test.

Stepper Motor Drivers
Minimize noise and vibration in your stepper motor designs with our QuietStepTM adaptive stepper motor drivers. We offer a complete lineup of stepper motor drivers for office automation, industrial, and automotive applications. Our advanced QuietStepTM solutions use proprietary algorithms to reduce torque ripple and current distortion. To minimize ripple current for the various operating conditions, QuietStepTM adaptive stepper motor drivers perform on-the-fly adjustments to the amount of fast decay during a pulse-width modulation (PWM) cycle. This adaptive feature improves system performance, reduces audible motor noise and vibration, and increases step accuracy.

Rad Hard GaN Drivers
The space market has been driving towards more efficient power management solutions. Part of the drive includes the use of Gallium Nitride Field Effect Transistors (GaN FETs) for power conversion. GaN FETs have higher power conversion efficiency and have more natural immunity to radiation, due to them being wide-bandgap semiconductors. Equally important is the use of the correct driver that will allow reliable operation and maximize the benefits of the GaN FETs. Some of the key driver requirements are: a well-regulated gate drive voltage; high source/sink current capability and a split driver output stage.

General Purpose Low-side MOSFET Drivers
Renesas' family of low-side FET drivers are very high-speed matched dual-drivers capable of delivering peak currents of 2.0 amps into highly capacitive loads and excellent at driving large capacitive loads with minimal delay and switching times. The high-speed performance is achieved by means of a proprietary "Turbo-Driver" circuit that speeds up input stages by tapping the wider voltage swing at the output. Improved speed and drive capability are enhanced by matched rise and fall delay times. These matched delays maintain the integrity of input-to-output pulse-widths to reduce timing errors and clock skew problems. This improved performance is accompanied by a 10 fold reduction in supply currents over bipolar drivers, yet without the delay time problems commonly associated with CMOS devices. Dynamic switching losses are minimized with non-overlapped drive techniques.
