The PK-232/USB brickwall filters have tighter bandwidth and steeper skirts for improved noise and QRM rejection. New PK-232 firmware (Ver. 7.2) allows a wider selection of filters than the original PK-232, so the filter can match the mode. The correct DSP filter is automatically selected when you choose an internal mode. In RTTY, Timewave’s proven Twin Peak Filters pluck the mark and space tones from the noise and QRM for great copy. In PACTOR, the filter bandwidth automatically changes when the baud rate shifts in response to the error rate of the link. In Morse (CW), the operator can preset either 100 Hz or 200 Hz bandwidth. The PK-232/USB is compatible with all Windows W2K,XP,Vista/Win7 software terminal programs for the PK-232.

ADQ32-PDRX acquires the input signal via a single connector and uses an onboard splitter to separate the signal into two paths with different gain settings. The high gain path is used to accurately capture low-amplitude portions of the input signal whereas the low gain path ensures the acquisition of high-amplitude peaks without causing saturation. The two signal paths are then combined in real-time inside the onboard field-programmable gate array (FPGA) to create a digitized output with improved performance.PDRX increases the dynamic range by 3 bits and is fully integrated into the digitizer for fast and easy system-level integration. ADQ32-PDRX is therefore comparable with a 16-bit digitizer in terms of dynamic range, but with the benefit of offering a higher sampling rate.

The module operates independently of the host computer, reducing the need for host intervention.The M8KSerial module is based on the Exar XR16M570 Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART). The device is compatible to industry standard 16550 UARTs. Each of the M4KSerialPlus’s four channels contains a transmit FIFO capable of holding up to 16384 bytes and a receive FIFO capable of holding either 16384 receive bytes or 5460 bytes with a 32-bit Time Tag associated with each byte. These large buffers allow application code to transfer large quantities of data with a single non-blocking subroutine call. The 32-bit Time Tag on receive channels is very useful for synchronizing serial data with data from other modules on the 8000 board or on other interface boards. Each channel has a programmable baud rate of up to 10 Mbps and can be configured as RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485.The M8KSerial module is supplied with C drivers, including source code.
