The color sensor product family includes both RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and high-accuracy XYZ light sensors for precise color measurement, determination, and discrimination. XYZ sensors are capable of providing xy chromaticity co-ordinates in accordance with the CIE 1931 color map. The ams color sensors include filters to block unwanted IR light in the visible spectral range, enabling highly accurate color measurement. Their high sensitivity coupled with their wide dynamic range make them well suited to continuous color temperature measurement of ambient light in display management systems, and automatic-white-balance assistance in camera applications. Some products have additional IR channels to assist with IR light source identification.

The CBG830 color bar and test signal generators will produce a quality, high definition full field color bar signal compatible with the digital HDMI and DVI-D interfaces. The CBG830 is designed to provide an accurate and affordable signal source for easy testing of displays, cables and systems.The CBG830 will generate a full field color bar signal with eight vertical bars, white through black. This signal is available in a variety of resolutions and refresh rates. TheCBG830 will usually fit in a toolbox with ease and even fit into a pocket. There is also a rack mount kit available as well. Power is provided by a regulated 5VDC source and a small wall plug power module is included with the packaged CBG830 but not with board level products. The CBG830 will have a switch array to select the video standard.

The Colorette 4 serves for precisely measuring the colour of ground roasted coffee. By means of the stripping device, the sample to be measured is prepared and afterwards positioned at the measuring point. The Colorette works according to the principle of reflection measurement. A ground coffee sample to be measured is illuminated with a white clock-pulsed LED. For colour value determination, the reflected light is thereby captured by a sensor. The determined colour value is afterwards indicated on the touch screen. Fully integrated carrier board designed to get the most out of the TMD37003 cRGB (color with IR compensation) and Proximity Sensor from AMS. This means that the board includes a 1.8V-5V input range LDO and high-speed signal voltage translation on all IO pins. In addition, we've added a high output white LED that is tuned to the light temperature range of the TMD37003 IC. This makes sensing color of close-proximity objects possible, such as in robotic color sorting operations. As on many of our boards, we've included 4-40 sized mounting holes to make installation easy. The IC functions are interfaced via a 0.1" header, which includes power (Vdd and GND), I2C interface (again, fully translated) and a 3.3V input to power the proximity (IR) LED. The on-board LED is turned on with a logic 'HIGH' applied to the LED pin and is powered with Vdd.
