When it comes to choosing a transformer turns ratio tester, TRT Standard series offers some of the most advanced instruments with LCD display out in the market. Each model measures transformer excitation current and phase shift performs automatic vector group detection and magnetic balance on three-phase transformers and three-phase autotransformers. Furthermore, they have a built-in true three-phase power source. Because of that, TRT Standard instruments can test transformers with special configurations, such as phase-shifting, rectifier, arc-furnace, traction transformers, etc.The instruments can output test voltages from 1 V AC to 250 V AC, depending on the chosen model. The purpose of the development of the 4535 was to deliver the same quality and reliability of our 32XX motors but at nearly 4x the power. Starting at the core of the motor, the 4535 uses the highest grade of sintered samarium-cobalt magnet. Unlike hobby grade neodymium magnets, these samarium-cobalt magnets are able to withstand high operating temperatures without losing magnetic strength or experiencing permanent demagnetization. Ultra-thin laminations are used in the stator to ensure minimal iron losses and maximize efficiency. All components of the motor are rated to at least 200°C to handle high continuous and burst power. Finally, to ensure manufacturing quality, all 4535 motors are designed and manufactured in Astro Flight's facility in Irvine, CA.

Even though the lamination material is tested in sheet format before any process, that alone is not sufficient to guarantee good quality stators. Wear and tear of the punch, bad welding, bad insulating coating in annealing add to the magnetic losses in the stator. It is always advisable to test the stator core in it's final format before winding to ensure good quality throughout the production batch.

A shaft speed sensor detects magnets embedded in a shaft-mounted pulser wrap/disc.
