PXI vector network analyzers (VNA) offer the capability to extend the number of ports for your measurements by using additional modules. When multiple modules are used, they are configured for multiport operation. The S95551B adds a multiport analyzer mode that enables full multiport error correction and measurement capabilities. The instruments may be identified as one VNA by the firmware running on an external host PC. At least one VNA instrument connected to your PC must have one S95551B license to maintain N-port capabilities.

Keysight's power limiters provide the best broadband input protection from excess RF power, DC transients and ESD, for a variety of RF and microwave instruments and components. For example, the input circuitry of spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, frequency counters or amplifiers can be protected from unintentional inputs up to 5 watts average power. At even greater power levels, failure mode for the limiter is either an open circuit or a short circuit to ground, thereby protecting the instrument from damage.

The Keysight automated measurement expert (AMX) is a smart software solution for automated multiport S-parameter measurements with the PXIe vector network analyzers M937xA/M9485A or the benchtop E5080A ENA network analyzer. The S94702A AMX VNA plugin adds S-parameter measurement capabilities to the Keysight test automation platform (TAP). The combination of the TAP and the VNA plugin forms the AMX backend software, which makes the VNA setups and executes the test sequences in the PXIe controller according to the optimized test sequence files generated by the AMX test plan builder. Other instrument plugins allow you to control the DUT mode, expand the number of test ports with the PXI switches or multiport test set, and use external instruments such as a DC power supply and a digital multimeter. The AMX backend software also provides step-by-step calibration wizard for full multiport calibration using the 4-port ECal module.

The Keysight 85130D test port adapter protects the test set port from being directly connected to the device under test. These adapters have a special rugged female connector that connects to the network analyzer test port. This special connector does not mate with a standard male connector but converts the rugged test set port to a connection that will mate with the device under test. This set contains a 3.5 mm to PSC-3.5 mm male adapter and a 3.5 mm to PSC-3.5 mm female adapter. The frequency range for these adapters is dc to 26.5 GHz with a return loss of 28 dB or better.

The Keysight 85093D RF electronic calibration (ECal) module makes the calibration of vector network analyzers fast, easy, and accurate. ECal is a precision, single-connection calibration technique for your vector network analyzer. Furthermore, the accuracy of the calibration is comparable between electronic and mechanical methods.
