The sensor is a mono-crystalline silicon solar cell having an area of2x2cm(4cm).The back of the solar cell is attached to the device in such a way that a good heat transfer to the device housing is guaranteed. Below the solar cell a Pt100 RTD temperature sensor is mounted to allow monitoring of device temperature. The device is not shunted allowing the whole IV-curve to be measured. The SST-LV is a Plug & Play Smart TEDS IEEE 1451.4 compliant Transmitter. Just plug in a TEDS compatible Load Cell or Torque Sensor and the SST-LV will automatically self-calibrate. When used with a non-TEDS Load Cell or Torque Sensor, the SST-LV Transmitter is easily programmed using a PC with an RS232 port and Instrument Setup (IS) software, which provides a graphical user interface. The SST-LV may be powered from 12-30 Vac or 10-48 Vdc. The SST-HV Has an Isolated transducer excitation output that is selectable between 5Vdc or 10Vdc. There are Dual solid state relays and an Isolated 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA or 0-10V analog output. There are three Isolated serial data transmitter output ( RS232 , Half-duplex RS485, full-duplex RS485 ) and three serial protocols that are software selectable (Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII and Custom ASCII). Isolation to 250V rms is provided for power, signal input, analog output, relay outputs, and communications. Isolation adds safety and avoids possible ground loops. The transducer excitation output is isolated to 50V from signal ground.

The LCA-9PC Module provides low-cost, dedicated signal conditioning for a single bridge type load cell or torque sensor. Model LCA-9PC comes with DB9 male and female connectors, which require soldering to user-furnished mating female or male wire connectors. On- board jumper selections include sensitivities from 0.5 mV/V to 10 mV/V, bandwidths from 100 Hz to 30 kHz, and amplified outputs of 0 to ±5V, 0 to ±10V, 0-16 mA, 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA. Zero and span adjustments are via precision 25-turn low-tempco metal film otentiometers.The units can be operated next to the sensor with 4-wire hookup or at distances up to 1 km (3300 feet) with 6-wire hookup. An onboard 87.325 kΩ resistor allows easy shunt calibration at the push of a button. Provision is also made for a user-furnished calibration resistor.
