Fluid Level Sensor
The output of the fluid level sensor is a voltage which changes in direct proportion to the level of fluid in the probe. The difference in permittivity between air and the fluid being measured changes the capacitance between the probe's two concentric tubes as the level changes. An RS232 connection to a PC allows the user to calibrate the fluid level and thermal drift compensation. The probe is factory replaceable, allowing the electronics to be re-used should the probe become damaged or if a new probe length is required.

The sensing element incorporates bonded foil strain gages of the highest quality along with coined silver slip ring and silver brushes for data transmission. The WR2, Flexural Natural Frequency, and Torsional Stiffness values as stated in the Dynamic Characteristics box below, are approximate and the tabulated data pertains to the torque pickup only, and does not include the effects of couplings or other rotating masses that would be part of a dynamic system.

They work well for applications involving small targets, unfavorable conditions and tight areas. Glass fibers can be used in harsh environments without damage and are more rugged than plastic fiber optics. Plastic fiber optics are more flexible and cost-effective and can be cut to length. When applied correctly, fiber optic sensors solve many applications general purpose sensors can't solve.

The EM-6873 Loop Sensor Antenna uses passive circuits to transform magnetic field components between 20 Hz – 100 kHz to an equivalent open circuit two-terminal voltage on the receiving instrument. Use of the conversion Factor Chart, supplied with each antenna, will yield the strength of the magnetic induction field referenced to a uniform field. The loop is electrostatically shielded and therefore is sensitive only to the magnetic component (B-field) of the electromagnetic fields.
