Amplifier Built-in Ultra-compact Laser Sensor
EX-L200
Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America
The EX-L200, the one of the world’s smallest Laser Sensors with a built-in amplifier, is designed to detect minute objects with utmost accuracy. Despite its miniature size, the Thru-Beam Type (EX-L211) can detect minute objects with a diameter of just 0.3mm, and the Spot Reflective Type (EX-L221) can even detect gold wire whose diameter is a mere 0.01mm. To facilitate solving application tasks, these sensors come equipped with a Potentiometer and two indicator LEDs. For the Thru-Beam Type, reflective material on the receiver allows users to visualize the laser beam, easing beam-axis alignment.

Pure Boron Foils
MICROMATTER™ boron foils are also produced by laser plasma ablation; however, the deposition process is much more complex and time consuming than that for diamond-like carbon. Accordingly, only thin films, mainly designed for beam stripping of heavy ions in electrostatic accelerators, are available. All films are generally delivered on glass substrates coated with a release agent.

Laser energy meter with high dynamic range
PM 200
In the past laser energy meters often required a whole selection of pyroelectric detectors for measuring different energies. From this point of view the PM 200 is a very modest instrument. A single detector enables monitoring of energies from the detection limit at 3 ?J up to highest energies of 200 mJ. The active sensor area with an aperture diameter of 34 mm ensures simple and reliable alignment for the detection of large beam profiles.?

M2 & BPP Systems
The M2 factor wil define the beam propagation characteristics compared to ideal Gaussian beam propagation. According to ISO Standard 11146 rightfully offers the laser beam characterization as "M2 times diffraction limited beam", as such, a perfect beam will have an M2 of 1. 1 will be the best achievable value and no beam could have an M2 less than 1. Our conceptual design is based on sub-assemblies allowing to change the sensing head in the M2 device, offering multiple wavelengths heads up to 2.7 microns from deep UV (knife-edge technology) and camera based technology with built-in automatic filter wheel for adjustment. For focused beams, the same measuring head could be attached to a device for meauring highly divergent or highly convergent beams - FocusGage-BA, wherein the Laser Analyzing Electronic Autocollimator offers the capability of divergence measurement with Coming Soon M2 definition. M2Beam is the cornerstone of those measuring devices.

PED Systems
Pulsed Electron Deposition
Is a process in which a pulsed (80-100 ns) high power electron beam (~1000 A, 15 kV) penetrates approximately 1 μm into the target resulting in a rapid evaporation of target material. The non-equilibrium heating of the target facilitates stoichiometric ablation of the target material. Under optimum conditions, the target stoichiometry is preserved in the deposited films. All solid state materials – metals, semiconductors and insulators, including those transparent to laser wavelengths in PLD – can be deposited as thin films with PED. By combining PLD and PED, the range of complex materials that can be prepared as thin films can be greatly enhanced.

Particle Sensor
HPM Series
Honeywell Industrial Automation
The Honeywell HPM Series Particle Sensor is a laser-basedsensor which uses the light scattering method to detectand count particles in the concentration range of 0 g/m3to 1,000 g/m3 in a given environment. A laser light sourceilluminates a particle as it is pulled through the detectionchamber. As particles pass through the laser beam, the lightsource becomes obscured and is recorded on the photo orlight detector. The light is then analyzed and converted toan electrical signal providing particulate size and quantity tocalculate concentrations in real time. The Honeywell particlesensor provides information on the particle concentration forgiven particle concentration range.

Laser Heads
The laser head is the source of the laser beam used in all laser motion and position measurement systems. The primary difference between laser heads is in the velocity, reference frequency and optical output power. Other considerations are size, heat dissipation, and input power requirements. Which laser you choose depends primarily on the application in which it will be used. For example, semiconductor lithography systems typically have faster moving parts (stages), and therefore need higher velocities than machine tool applications.
