The probe measures the carbon dioxide concentration in air. It’s indicated for checking and monitoring the indoor air quality. Typical applications are the check of the air quality in all the buildings where there is a crowd of people (schools, hospitals, auditoria, canteens, etc.), in the working places to optimize the comfort. CO2 measurement is obtained with an infrared special sensor (NDIR technology: Non-Dispersive Infrared Technology) that, thanks to the use of a double filter and a special measurement technique, warranties precise, stable and long-term measurements. The air to check is spread inside the measurement chamber through the protection membrane placed at the top of the probe.

Phosphoric acid and the oxidant (persulfate) are added to the sample, which is heated under UV illumination to convert the TC in the sample to carbon dioxide. This carbon dioxide flows with the carrier gas via the dehumidifier into the NDIR sample cell. The area of the carbon dioxide peak signal is measured and this peak area is converted to TC concentration using a pre-prepared calibration curve.

The Model T108 Total Sulfur analyzer is designed to measure mixed sulfur impurities, collectively referred to as Total Sulfides, in air or carbon dioxide gas. Since there is no scrubber in the system, the instrument reading is the sum of the oxidized sulfur compounds and SO2.The Model T108 consists of a modified Model T100 SO2 analyzer with special software and a Model 501TS high temperature thermal oxidizer. Sulfur compounds are heated as they pass through the converter and oxidized into SO2. When analyzing CO2, which generally contains no oxygen, approximately 6% O2 is added to the sample before entering the converter. This dilution is corrected in the calibration procedure.
