This is an eight, four, or two-port, asynchronous, serial communication board designed for use on the PC/104 bus. It supports full RS-232 serial communications. The board may be installed in any standard PC/104 stack. Connections are made via two 40 pin IDC type right angle connectors for the boards optional breakout cable. The boards are feature-rich and allow for the connection of multiple serial devices—ideal for a variety of applications such as POS, barcode readers, modems, machine monitoring and control, military, high-density networking applications or any other application requiring the connection of RS-232 serial devices to a PC/104 compatible system. Type 16780 UARTS are used as the asynchronous communication elements. All models are capable of bi-directional displacement in both axes and may be used for strain-controlled fatigue testing under fully reversed load and strain conditions at frequencies up to 10 Hz.All 7651 models mount rigidly on the load frame and incorporate slide mounting to bring the extensometer into contact with the specimen.
