High Voltage Pulse Attenuators

Barth High Voltage Pulse Attenuators are matched impedance coaxial attenuators for use primarily in pulsed 50 ohm systems, or where occasional transients would damage ordinary units. The attenuator design closely matches the impedance around each resistor, to that resistor. These attenuators feature an input impedance very close to 50 ohms, with characteristics as good or better than most microwave attenuators. These units are ideal for use in nuclear and high energy experiments. Extensive testing during manufacturing insures very high reliability for single-shot experiments. A voltage coefficient of the resistive film of less than .0001 %/V allows low voltage calibration of most systems.

The EAC-TAVS is a series of programmable high power AC voltage sources. Each system provides a three phase true sinewave output as standard. Each unit is built in a freestanding cabinet. The output frequency is adjustable in the range of 45 - 105Hz. Different frequency ranges are optional, with up to 805Hz possible. An RS-232 and CAN interface are provided as standard. The high resolution TFT front panel displays a host of measurement and setting functions. Besides standard models, other nominal power levels and voltages can be user specified. Voltage rail probes are designed specifically to probe a 50 Ohm DC power/voltage rail. The probe has large built-in offset, low attenuation (noise), and high DC input impedance. Built-in offset and low attenuation permit the power/voltage rail to be offset in the oscilloscope by its mean DC voltage with high oscilloscope gain (sensitivity) to achieve a noise-free view of small signal variations. The high DC input impedance eliminates loading of the DC rail.
