External Pre-amplifiers
Although all Spectrum A/D cards have a very powerful input section with a highly configurable input amplifier and a variety of input ranges it is sometimes necessary to have additional external amplifiers if the signal to acquire has an extremely low level. Spectrum offers a range of perfectly matching external amplifiers to cover such cases. These powerful amplifiers have been rated using the Spectrum cards and offer best performance together with high amplification rates. The amplifiers are simply connected between the signal source and the Spectrum A/D card input and can be manually switched between different settings using small lever keys. All amplifiers allow the offset compensation by using an adjustable screw.

Preamplifiers
LNA Series
Low noise amplifier with 12.5 dB of gain covering the nominal frequency range 1 MHz to 3 GHz and can be used in the range from 200 kHz to 4 GHz. With its high gain and low noise figure, it will significantly increase the sensitivity of virtually all spectrum analyzers and other RF measuring instruments. All measuring instruments have a 'noise figure', which is a measure of how good the instrument is at measuring low level signals, the lower this figure, the better, although the lowest signal level will still be governed by the measurement bandwidth. A typical spectrum analyzer may have a noise figure of 20 dB or more, whereas a typical receiver may have a noise figure of 10 dB. The preamplifier has a noise figure of typically 4 dB, significantly enhancing the low level performance of such instruments, enabling signals that were previously masked by noise to be seen.

Preamplifiers
The primary function of a preamplifier is to extract the signal from the detector without significantly degrading the intrinsic signal-to noise ratio. Three basic types of preamplifiers are available: the current-sensitive preamplifier, the parasitic-capacitance preamplifier, and the charge-sensitive preamplifier. ORTEC manufactures a preamplifier to fit your detector, your application, and your budget.

Spectral Sensitivity Measurement
It is a device which measures the spectral sensitivity characteristics and quantum efficiency of various solar cells by irradiating solar cells with monochromatic light of constant energy and constant photon without wavelength dependence. We are constantly monitoring irradiation light quantity with our real real time light quantity monitor control system and are not influenced by fluctuation of light source, so it is a well-established control system with excellent measurement stability and measurement reproducibility.

Sensitivity Testing
Response Dynamics Vibration Engineering, Inc.
Sensitivity testing involves making predictions of system response to environmental disturbance. The significance and importance of the system sensitivity estimates is very often overlooked. This gets companies in trouble and is one of the top reasons why we are called upon to provide timely solutions. Most teams are focused on getting their product to work and get it out the door. An engineering team will often not know how to quantify what to expect in the customer environment and how to test for those expected disturbances. We design hundreds of sensitivity tests and can explain the important concepts to consider in designing the tests and making the right measurements that allow for sound estimates of system response. This is an important expertise we use in our vibration, acoustic and magnetic field consulting services.

High Sensitivity ICP® Accelerometers
High sensitivity ICP® accelerometers are specifically designed to enable the detection of ultra-low-level, low-frequency vibrations associated with very large structures, foundations, and earth tremors. These sensors typically possess exceptional measurement resolution as the result of its comparatively larger size, which furnishes a stronger output signal and a lower noise floor. All units are hermetically sealed in a titanium or stainless steel housing. Models that include a 2-pin, military style connector provide the added benefit of being electrically case isolated for superior RF and EMI protection.
