The Q7B301 is an ultra-compact Qseven reference carrier board which measures only 100 x 72 mm - the size is slightly bigger than a credit card. This Qseven application board offers various I/O connectors and flexible expansion features to reduce the design effort to the minimum. The Q7B301 also has an extended industrial grade operating temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC to withstand the rigors of harsh environments. Axiomtek’s new Qseven Rev. 2.1 application board, Q7B301, is compatible with Qseven module – Q7M311 which is powered by the Intel® Pentium® Processor N4200 and Celeron® Processor N3350. Customers can emulate required functions on Q7M301 as a reference design board or integrate the Q7M301 directly into their product as the application board. Its minimum footprint also enables the maximum potential. The Q7M301 is especially suited for industrial IoT applications such as industrial control, medical imaging, digital signage, gaming machines, military, and networking. The Q7B301 comes with two PCI Express Mini Card slots and one SIM card slot for wireless communication (3G/4G, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth). For enhanced or high-definition audiovisual devices, the Qseven reference carrier board supports one HDMI and LVDS interfaces as well as HD audio and 4-channel digital I/O. More I/O interfaces include two Gigabit LANs with Intel® i211AT Ethernet controller, two RS-232/422/485, one USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, one SMBus, and one I2C. Furthermore, it has one SATA-600 interface for storage requirements.

The patented Nanomotor® is a piezo driven linear motor. It is a multifunctional basic part for many positioning and manipulation devices. It has a positioning stroke of up to more than a centimeter while operating with atomic resolution. The Nanomotor thus bridges eight orders of magnitude. The Nanomotor consists of a cylindrical housing and a slider with a free axial hole inside. It combines high resolution in the sub-nanometer range with a large positioning stroke. The Nanomotor utilizes a piezo tube for fine positioning and a shock wave produced by the same piezo tube for coarse movements. The small Nanomotor is half the size of a match stick. It can lift six times its own mass. Every point of its stroke can be reached with a speed of up to 1 mm/s. The Nanomotor also works in ultrahigh vacuum or even under water. It is driven by a PC card at a supply voltage of only ±15 volts.

Our automated scanning system is based on smart 3D cameras SICK Ruler E 600. Information about the wheel profile from the camera via a high-speed Gigabit Ethernet interface is sent to a dedicated computer for processing, detecting and recognizing the alphanumeric sequence applied to a specific section of the wheel. Synchronization with the rotation system is carried out by means of a high-precision encoder, with the conveyor system - via the Profibus DP interface. The complex is designed to scan wheels of various standard sizes and allows with a high resolution (tenths of a millimeter), without readjustment, to read numbers from wheels at a radius of 100 to 600 mm in 45 seconds.

Samples are taken from molten metal, thin sheet, semi-complete or complete products. When sampling molten metal with a ladle, small quantities of molten metal are poured into a casting mold. Unnecessary parts of the sample are removed using a grinder or a cutter. As particles from a grinder may contaminate the surface of the sample, a lathe or milling machine is used (not a grinder) to cut soft samples such as white metal. If trace elements are not being investigated, a grinder or belt sander can be used. However, to minimize contamination, the grinding wheel or belt should be changed for each sample. Samples excised from semi-complete or complete products must be at least 12 mm in diameter. Small rod-shaped samples can be analyzed using special equipment.
