The S930901B spectrum analysis adds high-performance microwave spectrum analysis to the PNA family up to 13.5 GHz. With fast stepped-FFT sweeps resulting from optimized data processing, the SA application provides quick spurious searches over broad frequency ranges. Simultaneous spectrum measurements can be done using up to five test and reference receivers. This multi-channel SA can be used with the internal swept-signal generators for efficient measurements of spurious signals emanating from mixers and frequency converters. The SA application employs source-power and receiver-response calibration as well as fixture de-embedding, providing in-fixture and on-wafer spectrum measurements with the highest level of accuracy.

It uses direct digital synthesis (DDS) for high-resolution frequency hopping or phase-continuous sweeping for fixture and device characterization applications. Emergent's fixture kits are available in bottom and double sided probing versions. They are fully scalable, from compact benchtop testers to full size multi-UUT production floor models. The removable, interchangeable plate design allows you to easily add and move test points, or swap out plates to test a completely different product. Each kit comes with a standard linear collapse over-clamp. A cam-follower closing system can be specified for higher force applications. Our fixture kits are manufactured using industrial grade phenolic laminate, which is similar to G10 in hardness and strength but easier to machine. The standard kit comes pre-assembled with blank plates for machining.

The unit is compact and lightweight. The basic system is 7″ wide by 2.5″ high and 12″ long. When measurements are needed below approximately 100 micro-ohm-centimeters, the basic system is piggybacked onto a second enclosure that houses a power amplifier with a current gain of ten. The combined unit measures 7″ wide by 5″ high and 12″ long. The combined unit weighs 11.5 pounds. Two short cables interconnect the two enclosures for powering the power amplifier and routing the signals to the fixture or four point probe. The front panel of the basic system includes a 32-character backlit LCD display and a set of function keys. An easy-to-use menu will allow access to user defined parameters such as sample thickness, sample volume, and calibration constants; upper and lower alarm limits, relative measurements, and several others.
