VB Build-A-Box
The VB Series, Build a Box provides a solution for any combinations of signal transport over fiber. With the VB-10 (10 card slots), VB- 6 (6 card slots), VB-4 (4 card slots), a unit can be created to your specification by populating the case with any configuration of VB-Cards. Each card’s I/O can be sent or received over its own disparate fiber, or all signals in the box can be multiplexed onto just one fiber. Inherently portable, each unit is ready for field applications or can be rack-mounted with optional Rack Mount kits.

Breakout board for the MAX31855K digital thermocouple interface IC. Measured temperature range is -270C-1372C with known thermal characteristics and output resolution of 0.25C. This sensor supports a larger operating range (specifically in the negative range) than its predecessors, the MAX6674 and MAX6675, though it is not pin-pin compatible. This board is interfaced with a 0.1" 1x5 pin header, has a vertical mini thermocouple connector and four mounting holes for standoffs and 4-40 screws.

The INA169 is a “high-side current monitor,” which means that you place a resistor (a “shunt resistor”) on the positive power rail and the INA169 measures the voltage drop across that resistor. The INA169 outputs a small current based on the measured voltage drop. If you place a resistor from the output of the INA169 to ground, you can measure the voltage at the output.

The TLC5940 is a 16 channel PWM unit with 12-bit duty cycle control (0-4095), 6 bit current limit control (0-63), and a daisy chainable serial interface. This breakout board is a good way to take full advantage of this useful IC. All 16 PWM channels are broken out to standard 0.1" headers, which run alongside convenient voltage and ground rails. Also, because the TLC5940 can be daisy-chained, the breakout is designed to support that feature. SparkFun 16 Output I/O Expander Breakout
SX1509
Are you low on I/O? No problem! The SX1509 Breakout is a 16-channel GPIO expander with an I2C interface – that means with just two wires, your microcontroller can interface with 16 fully configurable digital input/output pins. But the SX1509 can do so much more than just simple digital pin control. It can produce PWM signals, so you can dim LEDs. It can be set to blink or even breathe pins at varying rates. This breakout is similar to a multiplexer or "mux," in that it allows you to get more IO from less pins. And, with a built-in keypad engine, it can interface with up to 64 buttons set up in an 8x8 matrix.

Life has its ups and downs, so why not measure them? The MPL3115A2 is a MEMS pressure sensor that provides Altitude data to within 30cm (with oversampling enabled). The sensor outputs are digitized by a high resolution 24-bit ADC and transmitted over I2C, meaning it's easy to interface with most controllers. Pressure output can be resolved with output in fractions of a Pascal, and Altitude can be resolved in fractions of a meter. The device also provides 12-bit temperature measurements in degrees Celsius.
