Model LXT330 Liquid Transmitter is a single or dual channel, universal, multi-parameter transmitter, designed for continuous online liquid measurements. It is paired with SP3 Smart sensors and is intended for use in non-hazardous, general purpose rated industrial environments. The SP3 sensor platform covers a wide range of liquid analytical measurements, such as pH, ORP, Specific Ion (pION), dissolved oxygen, free chlorine, total chlorine, conductivity, resistivity and turbidity. The LXT330 transmitter can be used with any SP3 smart sensors without additional user reconfiguration. The Universal Transmitter & Smart Sensor loop philosophy removed the need to stock for multiple instrument types. The process parameter, sensor details, serial number and calibration history are stored in the sensor's main memory, facilitated by two-way digital communication between the sensors and transmitter. Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis
The purpose of detailed hydrocarbon analysis (DHA) is to determine the bulk hydrocarbon group type composition (PONA: Paraffins, Olefins, Naphthenes and Aromatics) of gasoline and other spark-ignition engine fuels that contain oxygenate blends (Methanol, ethanol, MTBE, ETBE, and TAME) according to ASTM-D6730. PONA analyte identification is conducted by matching retention indices with normal hydrocarbon paraffins. However, chromatograms obtained in PONA analyses have an extremely large number of peaks and their analytes may be mislabeled. Without accurate and reproducible retention indices, this may result in erroneous PONA ratios. The GC-2030 incorporates an Advanced Flow Controller that enables highly precise flow control, and makes it easy to analyze and identify detailed hydrocarbons. Shimadzu offers DHA analysis conforming to the following methods: ASTM-D5134, ASTM-D6729, ASTM-D6730, and ASTM-D6733.

The instruments at MEE are capable of variable-pressure, or low vacuum, SEM (VPSEM), as well as traditional high-vacuum conditions for sample observation. VPSEM is a specialized method using a variable-pressure sample chamber that allows direct evaluation of samples that are not readily examined with a traditional high-vacuum SEM. Nonconductive or vacuum sensitive samples that would typically require additional sample preparation can be directly analyzed in VPSEM without the need for additional sample preparation, such as carbon or metallic conductive coatings. This reduces both sample preparation time and distractions in microanalysis. Our laboratory also has a field emission SEM (FESEM) for critical high-magnification work and low-voltage (LVSEM) applications. Each instrument has a spacious sample chamber that can accommodate large and irregularly-shaped specimens and accessories for feature dimensional analysis and chemical microanalysis.
